Lupita came to the U.S. and started studying journalism but she’s now homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Claudia Hernández (she/her) is a visual editor and multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. Born in Ciudad Juárez, México, and raised between there and El Paso, Texas, her work reflects a deep connection to both cultures.

Claudia holds an MFA in Photography from Brooklyn College and dual BAs in Multimedia Journalism and Digital Media Production from UT El Paso.

 

She has served as Photo Editor for The Washington Post, NPR Next Generation Radio, The Prospector, and Minero Magazine, and reported on the U.S./Mexico border for Borderless Magazine. She also coordinated translations for Translating Chicago Stories through the Institute for NonProfit News.
